Jim's primary expertise is in strategy, product management, and M&A integration for technology-driven businesses. Prior to co-founding TwentyTen, Jim was an Engagement Manager at Pittiglio Rabin Todd and McGrath (PRTM), a global management consulting firm to high-tech companies. There he helped Fortune 500 clients structure their strategies, organizations, and core business processes for competitiveness, profitability, and growth. Prior to consulting, Jim progressed through 3M's leadership program to become a Global Product Leader, where he had fiscal responsibility for over $25 million in new product launches in the U.S. and Europe.
Jim has been actively involved in a number of high-tech industries over the past 12 years, including computer, software, telecom, automotive, and life science. He has provided portfolio, pipeline, and product management advice to leading companies such as IBM, Lucent, Nextel, Tektronix, NASA, Merck, and Johnson & Johnson. Jim most recently provided technical due diligence and post-merger integration advice on a $2 billion M&A transaction.
To complement his technical expertise, Jim received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Jim has been a guest lecturer on the topics of technology and private equity at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the Illinois Institute of Technology.
